Haslemere Taxis During Covid-19

The business has changed dramatically since ‘Lockdown’, with drivers suffering from underlying health problems staying at home and the 90% drop in customers driving some to simply not bother coming to work, or leaving the industry altogether. Haslemere Independent Taxis closed their business entirely until myself and business partner stepped in at the beginning of July to rescue it after the previous owner walked away. Since then we have built a new website serving taxi customers in the Haslemere area and ensured we always have two daytime and one evening driver. The existing customers have returned and we have carried on the reputation for accepting all the little local taxi journeys that other companies do not care to accept. There has been a 95% decrease in trips to airports and the business and social event customers travelling into London have all but disappeared. Angus has been ever present with his taxi at Haslemere station and continues to be available at all hours of the day and night!

However, we are soldiering on and Nick, Angus, Geoff, Dave, Emil and Robin are waiting for better times ahead- perhaps when the wedding, Cowdray and Goodwood events re-start in March 2021 we shall see a relative return to normality. In the meantime we are practising strict hygiene in our cars and continuing to provide the Haslemere area’s most reliable, friendly taxi service.
